For the purposes of this chart the bonus ball number have not been included.
Out of the nine draws that took place last month, four of them didn't see any jackpot winners at all. But of the weeks that did see winners there tended to be a lot of them – anything from three to six each week, totalling twenty three lucky winners in all.
You'll notice we had a couple of rollover draws though, resulting in a huge £13.58 million jackpot on the 23rd, which was won by five people. The lowest jackpot for the whole month was on the 13th: that was for £1.70 million and was divided up six ways!
Perhaps not surprisingly, the highest and lowest jackpot amounts were seen on those two dates as well. Every jackpot winner on the 23rd walked away with the biggest jackpot share of the month, which stood at £2,716,570. The lowest share came on the 13th – unlucky for some? – which was £284,503. Still a nice amount to win, but quite low for a jackpot share.
So which numbers did us proud last month? Well there were some notable familiar faces that kept popping up over and over again. For example, the numbers 8 and 14 popped up twice each, while the numbers 33 and 35 each came out three times. We saw a few triplets in August as well, with 33, 34 and 35 popping out one week and 32, 33 and 34 in another. And we also saw 9, 10 and 11 appearing together too. The numbers 34 and 35 also came out as a pairing on one occasion. But it was the number 9 that impressed us more than anything, as it came out a whopping five times in the nine draws that took place over the month!
The numbers we didn't see at all during August were 4, 6, 12, 13, 18, 20, 21, 22, 24, 25, 28, 37, 39, 45, 46 and 48. An even spread of numbers to look out for next month then, with the twenties being the most under represented batch of numbers during August.
The only triplet of numbers that were possible from those that didn't show up is 20, 21 and 22, so bear that in mind. There are also a few possible pairings – 12 and 13, 21 and 22, 24 and 25, and 45 and 46.
So all in all it was an up and down month in August – one huge jackpot and four weeks with no winners, interspersed with five weeks where plenty of people scooped the often smaller jackpots. Not as even a month as July, but still very nice if you happened to hold a winning ticket!
Other winners
If you held five numbers plus the bonus ball at any time during August you would still have won a nice amount of money.
Here are the bonus ball winners for August:
On Saturday 2nd August, fourteen people walked away with £102,532 each.
On Wednesday 6th August, seven winners netted a nice cool £100,625 each.
On Saturday 9th August, twelve people did even better and won £121,340 apiece.
On Wednesday 13th August, a whopping twenty three people grabbed just £22,836 each.
On Saturday 16th August, five people won an amazing £302,133 apiece.
On Wednesday 20th August, eleven people grabbed £99,964 each.
On Saturday 23rd August, an impressive eighteen people took away £87,170 apiece.
On Wednesday 27th August, just three people won £288,416 each.
On Saturday 30th August, eighteen people won £83,593 each.
So that made the lowest payout for five main balls plus the bonus £22,836, while the highest payout for five plus bonus was £302,133 (with a nearly as good £288,416 coming in at a close second).
So Saturday the 16th was definitely the day to be gunning for the five plus bonus prize, with the unlucky for some 13th August being the day to avoid (although even twenty two grand is very nice!).

Well we didn't see any double figures in July and we have two for August, so anyone betting on those would have had a better chance. Lucky 7 came out twice, but all the other weeks saw a different number each time.
Will we return to single digits for the whole of September or will we finally see more of a mix? We'll see.
EuroMillions
Well you had five chances to bag a big prize during August, but did you manage it?
We didn't see any sizeable jackpots during July but that was certainly set right during August, as you can see from the table below. Interestingly we predicted last month that we could be seeing some bigger jackpots to come, and we certainly got that right!
The smallest jackpot for August was £21.27 million – almost double the regular jackpot last month! And the biggest occurred on the 29th – and it was for a whopping £73.53 million pounds.
As you can guess there were no winners of the jackpot prize during August, so we should brace ourselves to see who bags the top money during September. That's a lot of money to win!

Again, last month we predicted that there was a possibility that numbers in the teens might be thin on the ground this month, and they were – three out of the five draws didn't feature any at all.
These numbers can also be popular with players so maybe that's why we've seen so many rollovers.
Lotto Hotpicks
With just £130,000 on offer to the top prize winners in the Lotto Hotpicks draw, we don't tend to see many winners here, as everyone prefers to put their money on the main lottery draw.
We had three winners of that prize this month, with the first one occurring in the first draw of the month, and the other two coming soon after.
A trio of numbers, 9, 10 and 11, came out on the 13th, while 32, 33 and 34 popped up on the 20th and 33, 34 and 35 came out on the 27th – exactly mirroring the two triplets of numbers which showed up in the main Lotto draw! What are the odds of that happening, I wonder?
Dream Number
In the last two months we've had no winners of the £500,000 prize, but it's a difficult one to grab since you need to get the numbers in exactly the right order.
And once again we have zero winners in August, so that's a three month dry spell now. Will we ever see a winner for this I wonder?
Daily Play
We've seen four winners for each of the last two months here, so was August a more successful month for the Daily Play players, who can buy a ticket for the draws running from Monday to Saturday each week?
Well it was lucky seven last month, as seven people scooped the top prize of £30,000. We almost doubled the number of winners per month in just one month! Will that mean another dry spell next month though?
Overall results
There were twenty three winners in the main Lotto draw in August, just two more than the previous month.
But all in all it was an interesting month – and we'll be here next month to see how many winners manage to scoop that huge EuroMillions jackpot! Don't forget to buy that ticket…
