Monthly Review Of Lottery Draws For June
Was the month of June a lucky one for you? Do you still have some lottery tickets you bought that you haven't checked yet? If you do, now is the time to search for them as you read through our update on the lottery results for last month.
The live lottery shows are the first time we can see the results for the main draws, but of course we're not always available to watch the draw as it takes place, and on occasion we are nowhere near a television.
That's why now is your best chance to see if you are a millionaire and you don't even know it! If you bookmark this site and remind yourself to check it once a month, you'll always know if you've won a major prize – just remember to keep those tickets in a safe place each time.

We have not included the bonus ball results in this chart; the only balls listed are those which have to be matched to claim a share of the jackpot.
Now the first thing you will no doubt notice is the huge number of jackpot winners that cropped up at the end of the month; in actual fact, if you had been a jackpot winner on Wednesday 25th June, you would only have got £114,774 more than if you had matched five of the main balls plus the bonus ball! That's a tight gap, and each jackpot winner actually walked away with less than a quarter of a million pounds each. Still better than getting ten pounds for three numbers though!
The high number of jackpot winners on the last three draws of the month could have been due to the fact that the majority of the numbers (fifteen out of the eighteen numbers over the three draws) could have been notable dates such as birthdays or anniversaries, which a lot of people tend to pick. We also had a triplet of numbers – 22, 23 and 24 – coming up trumps on the 25th June, which certainly turned out to be a lucky trio for ten people.
Which other numbers prompted the attention this month? Well, single digit numbers weren't popping up too often, which could point to them being more popular next month perhaps. Three of the draws didn't feature any single digit numbers at all.
The numbers 12 and 23 both popped up three times, and both appeared in the last two draws of the month. Could that mean we won't see them again for a while? We'll see. The numbers 11, 37, 44 and 7 all came out twice – and two of these numbers hadn't been seen at all the previous month. So could they still feature again next month?
The numbers that didn't appear at all were – 2, 3, 4, 6, 10, 13, 15, 20, 21, 25, 30, 31, 32, 33, 40, 41, 43, 47 and 49. Quite a big list there, with eleven odd numbers, eight even numbers and a quad of numbers between 30 and 33 that might be worth keeping an eye on for next month!
There were three draws in June which didn't result in at least one jackpot winner, although the huge number of winners at the end of the month more than made up for that.
Other winners
Even if you weren't lucky enough to scoop a share of one of the jackpots, there was still plenty of cash on offer to those who had five numbers and the bonus.
On Wednesday 4th June, nine people walked away with £92,017 apiece.
On Saturday 7th June, thirteen people were handed £103,399 each.
On Wednesday 11th June, sixteen people got lucky and netted £52,786 each.
On Saturday 14th June, an amazing thirty six people walked away with £43,082 apiece.
On Wednesday 18th June, four people did incredibly well and got an amazing £226,977 apiece.
On Saturday 21st June, seventeen people were lucky enough to walk away with £71,109 each.
On Wednesday 25th June, six people netted £120,814 each.
On Saturday 28th June, an incredible nineteen winners got £67,889 each.
So the lowest payout in June for five balls plus the bonus was £43,082, while the highest by far went to four lucky winners on the 18th, at £226,977. The average bonus ball prize for June was £97,259, which was well down on May when the average was £175,000.
All of which could mean next month could be a good one for buying tickets again!
Thunderball Results
The Thunderball numbers have been rather interesting over the months of April and May, as they were all very low – leaving us wondering what would happen in June.
Here are the results:

So it seems the numbers are going lower again. Only three of the Thunderball numbers were into double figures in June, whereas May saw five numbers getting into double figures.
We were speculating as to whether the number 8 might appear less frequently given that it appeared twice in April and only once in May, but again it only popped up once in June. The numbers 11 and 6 were the most frequent Thunderball numbers without doubt, both appearing twice during the month.
EuroMillions
The weekly drawing of the EuroMillions numbers always provokes some excitement as the jackpots can be quite big, and winning one would certainly change your life.
The biggest jackpot for June was £46,160,000, which came right at the end of the month – and in fact the jackpot got bigger with each week that went by, starting from a modest £12,020,000 and climbing higher week by week owing to the fact that no one was able to match all the numbers.
When the jackpot was finally claimed on the last Friday of the month, one lucky (and presumably rather stunned) person got the lot!

The number 44 appeared twice during June, while the number 50 appeared in three out of the four draws to take place that month. The number 37 also appeared twice.
Single digit numbers were less popular than they were in May, with only three appearing in the main draw in the whole of the month.
Lotto Hotpicks
Last month we saw just two jackpot winners, so would there be any more in June?
The answer was no – once again there were just two winners of the top prize, which is £130,000 to every person who matches all the numbers.
Five of the draws for that month featured at least one single digit number, while numbers in the teens proved to be very popular, coming up trumps in all but one of the draws in June. Numbers in the twenties also appeared in all but one of the draws, with the number 23 popping up three times.
So does that mean the number 23 will go quiet in the coming weeks? We shall see next time, when we have the results from July to take a look at.
Dream Number
This is probably the trickiest jackpot to win, because not only do you have to match all the numbers, they need to be in the right order as well.
Was anyone lucky enough to do that during June? Yet again the answer was no, but presumably the £500,000 jackpot will be enough to keep some people trying.
The biggest number of winners, as always, was the £2 prize winners who matched just the first number. But even £2 is better than nothing!
Daily Play
There are £30,000 waiting for any winner of the jackpot in the Daily Play draw, but only four people managed to win in June. This was one better than May's results, but considering the draw is made six times a week (every day except for Sunday) you would hope to see more winners than this.
There is no doubt that the main Lotto draw is more attractive than the prospects offered by the Daily Play draw, and so the trend of fewer winners in the Daily Play draw may continue for some time to come.
Overall results
We saw thirty one jackpot winners in the main Lotto draw during June, with a whopping twenty six of those coming in the last three draws! In fact those last three draws generated more jackpot winners by far than the whole of the month of May, which saw just nineteen people matching all six main balls.
So do you have your lucky numbers ready for July? Could it be that you will be reading this column next month knowing that you are one of the jackpot winners we are writing about?
Let's hope so – and we wish you the best of luck!
