Monthly Review Of Lottery Draws For September 2009

Can it be that another month has already flown by?  Yes indeed it has, and here we are ready to give you another raft of results from the National Lottery draws.  Of course we also have the EuroMillions draw to report on, so stay put for that too!  If you bought any lottery tickets for any of the main draws – including Dream Number, Thunderball, Lotto Hotpicks and more – make sure you have them ready to hand.  We might just be reporting on the numbers you are waiting for.

There are always tickets that go unchecked and people who forgot which draws they bought them for.  So if you think you might have the odd ticket lying around that you haven’t checked yet, now might be a good time to search for them.

There were some good jackpots around again as per usual last month too.  And with Christmas looming ever closer, wouldn’t it be nice to scoop your share of one of them?  Even five balls plus the bonus in the main Lotto draw usually brings home a nice amount of money, so you could hope for second best even if you don’t win it big!

We start off as always with the main Lotto draw, before moving on to check what happened in all the others.  So if you have your tickets at the ready, let’s get started by looking at the winning numbers for the Lotto draw.

For the purposes of this chart the bonus ball numbers have not been included.

For starters when we look at these results we can see a significant number of people hit the jackpot in the second draw of the month – seven in all.  And in fact there were only two draws where we didn’t see any winners of the jackpot at all.  One other draw threw up three jackpot winners while the rest saw one or two people each time pick all six correct numbers.

But how did we do when it came to the actual jackpot shares?  Were they on the small side for those seven winners?  And what about the individual winners on the other weeks - did they win it big?

Well in actual fact the smallest jackpot share came later in the month, when three people scooped the prize on the 30th.  They each won £836,446.  The biggest share also came in the second half of the month, when one person walked away with a nice £5,109,794.

Following on from there, let’s take our usual look at what the most frequently occurring numbers were in the Lotto draw during September.  The numbers appearing twice each were as follows – 35, 36, 20, 44, 46 and 28.  Appearing three times each were the numbers 2, 41, 23, 18 and 43.  And just one number appeared four times during the month of September, and that was number 28.

But which numbers didn’t make any appearances at all over the course of the month?  Here they are – 1, 6, 8, 9, 13, 14, 16, 21, 29, 37, 38, 42 and 49.  So there were quite a few single digit numbers that we didn’t see last month.  And just two numbers of each of the twenties, thirties and forties didn’t show up either.  Will they pop up next month instead?

Let’s see if any pairs came out together now.  27 and 28, 43 and 44, and 46 and 47 were the only ones we saw all in all.  And there were no threesomes during September at all.

So it was quite an even spread during the whole of the month.

Other winners

If you have checked your ticket and you didn’t manage to match up six numbers, you may have got lucky with five and the bonus instead.  But whether you did or not, here are the lucky winners for matching those numbers.

On Wednesday 2nd September, fourteen people bagged £41,463 apiece.

On Saturday 5th September, eighteen people walked away with £84,089 apiece.

On Wednesday 9th September, thirteen winners won £57,999 each.

On Saturday 12th September, six people got £265,914 each.

On Wednesday 16th September, six ticket holders were lucky enough to win £140,248 each.

On Saturday 19th September, seven winners took home £224,606 each.

On Wednesday 23rd September, no one won a five plus bonus prize.

On Saturday 26th September, thirteen winners got £107,101 each.

On Wednesday 30th September, twelve winners bagged £64,342 apiece.

It’s quite unusual to get a draw where there are no five plus bonus winners, but as you can see it happened on the 23rd September.  All the other draws put together produced a total of 89 winners in this part of the draw.

The smallest share occurred in the first draw of the month, when fourteen people won £41,463 each.  And the biggest share happened ten days later on the 12th, when just six people got £265,914 apiece.

It was certainly an entertaining month!

Thunderball Results

Let’s move on to the Thunderball draw now, to see what the Thunderball numbers were for each one.

So just as we saw the month before, we got four double digit numbers during the whole of September.  But on the rest of the weeks the numbers were quite high too, so there weren’t too many low ones all in all.

If you remember we had a huge rollover during August – and it was beaten by the size of that huge £90.74 million pound jackpot during September!

Unbelievably just one person walked away with that huge sum, and unfortunately it didn’t go to anyone in the UK.  Better luck next week perhaps!

Lotto Hotpicks

If you haven’t taken part in this draw before, let us give you some information about it.  The jackpot is a very low one compared to the type you see in the main Lotto draw (and especially low when compared to the EuroMillions draws!) but it is still a nice piece of change - £130,000 to be exact.

We don’t tend to see too many winners of this either; we had one winner in August, so did we improve on that during September?

Indeed we did – we had two winners, with the first one occurring on the 5th of the month and the second near the end on the 26th.  Congratulations to both!

Dream Number

Did you pick the right seven numbers in the right order to take home half a million pounds during last month?

That is the top prize for the Dream Number draw, and if you didn’t get it right you weren’t alone.  Just one person managed to get the right combination of numbers, which happened on the 19th.  Let’s hope for more winners next time!

Daily Play

This is the last draw in our report, and it brings a jackpot of £30,000 every single day of the week.  Sunday is the only day the draw doesn’t take place.

So how did things go during September?  We had two winners for the whole of August, and we equalled that last month with one on the 7th and one on the 18th.  Well done to the two lucky winners.

Overall results

So there we are for another month – and it was a month in which we saw another whopping EuroMillions jackpot rollover going to one person.  They are probably still deciding what to do with it all!

The main Lotto draw in the UK produced some nice wins too, with plenty of five plus bonus winners.  And of course we saw that one unusual draw which produced a single jackpot winner but no five plus bonus winners at all.

The question now – regardless of whether you were lucky during September or not – is whether you have bought your tickets for next month yet or not.  If you haven’t, perhaps now is a good time to do so.  If you do, let us wish you the best of luck in the forthcoming draws, whichever ones you decide to take part in.

We’ll see you next month.
