For the purposes of this chart the bonus ball numbers have been omitted.
An interesting month all in all – we had three draws with no main winners at all, and two with five winners apiece. Two draws saw a single jackpot winner while the remaining one was shared by two people.
The largest and smallest jackpot shares were just a week apart. The largest one was on the 7th of March, when two people walked away with a whopping £3,951,799 each. A week later on the 14th the smallest share was taken by five people, who each got £883,679. Still a nice return on a £1 ticket!
As far as numbers that were popping out more than once is concerned, we didn’t see too many of those last month. Only four numbers came out twice, which were 2, 6, 9 and 33. Four more came out three times each, and these were 21, 25, 32 and 37. And finally just one number popped up four times, which was 31.
So does this mean there weren’t too many numbers that didn’t appear at all? Let’s take a look at them – 4, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, 14, 15, 18, 24, 35, 40, 42, 43, 45 and 48. So as we can see, most of the twenties and the thirties did in fact come out during the month.
There were a lot of numbers in the teens which didn’t appear last month – a pattern which fits with the previous month as well. Does this mean we are overdue for a raft of appearances here?
We saw three separate pairings pop out during the month – these were 32 and 33, 20 and 21 and 26 and 27. We also had a triplet – 31, 32 and 33. This came out during the sixth draw of the month, when five out of the six main numbers were in the thirties!
Other winners
So that is the main draw all sewn up. But what about the bonus ball winners? Did we see many of those during March? Let’s find out now.
On Wednesday 4th March, eight people bagged £105,909 each.
On Saturday 7th March, six people won £264,099 apiece.
On Wednesday 11th March, just three people walked away with £259,024 each.
On Saturday 14th March, an impressive thirteen people got £104,577 each.
On Wednesday 18th March, seven lucky people won £110,062 apiece.
On Saturday 21st March, six people got £282,824 each.
On Wednesday 25th March, seven more lucky winners got £134,081 each.
On Saturday 28th March, a whopping twenty two people walked away with £74,827 each.
So the best payout for March for five plus the bonus was £282,824 on Saturday 21st. The smallest was a week later on the 28th, with £74,827. But we did see winners every draw – and a total of seventy two bonus ball winners over the month as a whole.
Thunderball Results
Did you play the Thunderball during March? Here are those crucial numbers:
Date | Thunderball Number |
Wed 04 Mar | 7 |
Sat 07 Mar | 9 |

Sat 14 Mar | 8 |
Wed 18 Mar | 12 |
Sat 21 Mar | 2 |
Wed 25 Mar | 4 |

The number twelve appeared twice last time, and it seemed keen to get in on the act this time as well. The number two appeared twice, but on the whole we had some higher numbers popping out as the all important Thunderball in March.
EuroMillions
Date | Jackpot |
Fri 6th Mar | £90.12m |
Fri 13th Mar | £14.85m |
Fri 20th Mar | £28.04m |
Fri 27th Mar | £14.08m |
That huge jackpot amount for the first Friday in March resulted in two winners walking away with a whopping great amount each. No winner the following week resulted in a rollover that was subsequently won by two people.
And once again we didn’t get any winners the final Friday, so we’re up for another rollover next time.
Lotto Hotpicks
The top prize up for grabs here is just £130,000. While that is still a nice sum and very welcome indeed, it isn’t enough to garner the same level of attention for this draw as we see for other ones.
And we had just the one winner during March, as one person bagged the £130,000 top prize in that draw that took place on Saturday 14th March.
Dream Number
There were no winners for this draw in March, although plenty of people won smaller prizes. The main prize for this draw is an impressive half a million pounds.
Better luck next month perhaps, if you decide to give it a go yourself!
Daily Play
The top prize for this draw requires that you match up all the numbers – and the prize for doing so is £30,000. This is a daily draw though, so apart from Sundays you stand a chance of winning every day.
February saw six winners, and March turned out to be another good month too. We had three winners of the main prize on the 9th, plus another one the following day. And then one final winner got lucky on the 24th.
This was a great result as we have seen months where only one person has bagged the top prize. On occasion you don’t see any winners for ages as well. But perhaps the success of the last two months means we won’t see many winners for a while?
Overall results
So it has been another good month all in all on the lottery draws. If you have been checking your numbers and your tickets you may have discovered a win you didn’t know you had. But even if you didn’t strike it lucky this time around, it could be your month next time.
Certainly some people had a good month, with good payouts on the Lotto jackpots and that huge rollover on the EuroMillions. Splitting that sum between two winners meant each share added up to £45.06 million! That’s a lot of cash to decide what to do with.
Dream Number and Lotto Hotpicks were rather barren during March, with one winner representing the Hotpicks draw and none at all for the main prize in Dream Number. These are draws which tend to have less people playing though, as everyone focuses on those larger jackpots that are available elsewhere.
So which numbers will you be playing next month? Will you be playing the same ones you stick to all the time? Or will you be studying the numbers above and trying to see if you can better guess which ones might pop out next time?
In the end it is all a guessing game and we can but hope we get just the right numbers to scoop the jackpot. And of course we shall be here as always to give you the run down on the results and prizes next time around. Who knows, we might even be revealing that you were one of the big winners! You might be one of the people we refer to in our list of five plus bonus winners in the main Lotto draw! Or perhaps the big EuroMillions draw would be more your idea of a big win?
Whatever draw you play, be sure you are here again next month to get all the results you need.
