So how did you do last month?  Was it a month where your numbers finally came up, or did you fall short of that dream line up again?

You'll notice that only the six main balls have been listed in this chart; the bonus ball numbers have not been included.

You will also notice that there was at least one jackpot winner for every single draw that took place, and it was also a very even month with one, two, three or four winners every time.  That was a huge change from last month when we saw a huge twenty six jackpot winners in just three consecutive draws.

There were consequently no rollovers, so no huge jackpot sums this month, although there were still very healthy jackpots on offer each week, with the highest one being £4.78 million and the lowest £1.94 million.  The highest jackpot share was won by just one ticket holder on the 12th July, when they walked away with a cool £4,787,932 while the smallest was just over half a million on the 16th.

So what numbers were coming up trumps last month?  Number 3 showed up an impressive four times, as did number 30, prompting thoughts that we might not see them again for a while.  Are they about to cool down?  Number 2 popped out twice, as did numbers 4, 12 and 42.  We also saw 26 three times, number 9 twice and 29 three times as well.

Single digit numbers appeared in all but two draws, while numbers in the forties only appeared in four out of the nine draws, with a total of just five numbers in the forties appearing in total.  Does this mean we will see a few more popping out over the month of August?  It might just be worth bearing in mind.

The numbers that we didn't see at all during July were 1, 5, 7, 8, 10, 14, 20, 21, 25, 34, 36, 37, 38, 41, 43, 45, 47, 48 and 49.  There is no surprise to see a lot of numbers in the forties there, so that might be worth thinking about when you are filling in your playslips for next month.

There are also two trios of numbers that didn't show up so if you like to include a pairing or a triplet of numbers in your results, then you could include 36, 37 and 38 in your selections as well as 47, 48 and 49.  In total we've got eleven odd numbers there and eight even numbers, which strangely is the exact same number and split of non appearing numbers that we had last month!

All in all there were no major surprises last month – no huge rollovers, no massive extremes of winning amounts or jackpot winners as there were before.  But then after the results we saw last month maybe we needed something a little less unusual for a change!

Other winners

Five numbers and the bonus adds up to the second prize on the National Lottery Lotto draw, and there were some lucky winners during the month of July.

On Wednesday 2nd July, six people grabbed £103,554 each.

On Saturday 5th July, another six people walked away with £240,928 each.

On Wednesday 9th July, a whopping twenty three people got £26,058 each.

On Saturday 12th July, ten people won £147,320 each.

On Wednesday 16th July, nine winners got £71,074 each.

On Saturday 19th July, another nine winners walked away with £124,986 apiece.

On Wednesday 23rd July, two lucky people won £442,168 each.

On Saturday 26th July, twenty five people won £49,895 apiece.

On Wednesday 30th July, six people walked away with £131,359 each.

So that made the lowest payout for five balls plus the bonus ball just £26,058, while the highest payout for July was a whopping £442,168 – a difference of £416,110!

That large payout went to two people, while the biggest number of five plus bonus winners actually didn't net the smallest prize – they got £49,895 apiece seventeen days later.

You would have been forgiven for wanting to bag a five plus bonus prize on the 23rd rather than the 9th!

Thunderball Results

We've been tracking those Thunderball numbers over a few months now, so let's see what they were during July:

What stands out here?  It's definitely the fact that there are no double figures at all.  The number six popped out three times in nine draws – a whopping 33% success rate as the Thunderball number.  The number two also came out twice.

So will next month be the month to see double figures as the Thunderball?  Or will it be the return of the sixes yet again?  Three of the numbers last month were into double figures so it will be interesting if the balance is redressed again in the weeks to come.

EuroMillions

Did you get lucky and bag one of the biggest lotto prizes in the world last month?  Grab that ticket just in case – even if you have already checked it!

The most notable thing about the jackpots in July for EuroMillions is that compared with the previous month they weren't that sizeable.  Of course they were still all over £10 million pounds, but there weren't any rollovers to really get the blood pumping.  However the last draw of the month didn't produce any jackpot winners so we could be seeing some much larger sums on offer next month!

The biggest jackpot for July was £12.02 million and the smallest was £11.83 million, so you can see there wasn't a huge difference between them.

Here are the jackpots for July:

Numbers in the teens were rather popular during July, with a total of eight appearances between them out of a total of twenty main numbers drawn over the four weeks.

The number 19 came out twice, as did the number 7 and the number 29.  It's anybody's guess as to what will come up trumps next month – although it will be interesting to see whether the numbers in the teens are a bit more thin on the ground!

Lotto Hotpicks

The top prize in Lotto Hotpicks is just £130,000, so it is hardly surprising that we tend to see a lot less in the way of jackpot winners, as it is always the main draw with the promise of a much bigger jackpot that gets everyone's attention.

The last two months we have seen two winners of the Lotto Hotpicks draw, but this month increased that tally as four people walked away with £130,000 each.

The number three came out four times, as did the number 30, but the biggest surprise had to be the quartet of numbers – 27, 28, 29 and 30 – coming out all at once on Saturday 12th July!  The number 28 actually came out on three occasions in total.

Dream Number

We saw no winners of the jackpot for the Dream Number draw in June, so would we be looking at the same result in July?

This is a tough one to win because it's not good enough to have all the numbers – you need to get them in the exact same order as they appear when drawn.

According to the lottery site there were still no winners for July, so it seems like we'll be back here next month as usual, hoping that someone has finally cracked the code to win half a million pounds.

Daily Play

We saw four winners for the whole of June, so would we get a more impressive result for July?

The answer was no – the same number of people each walked away with the top prize of £30,000 during the month of July, so we will just have to wait and see whether that number can be topped next month.

Overall results

There were twenty one winners for the whole of the month of July in the main Lotto draw – ten less than we saw in June.

So do you have your tickets at the ready for August's draws?  If you don't, now would be the best time to study those numbers in the hope of picking the right ones to check off and celebrate with next time!

Good luck!
