Monthly Review Of Lottery Draws For April 2010

How did you fare in the National Lottery draws for the month of April?  Did you manage to pick the right numbers to match three or more in the Lotto draw?  Or did you pick up a slice of the EuroMillions money on offer?

If you didn’t get a chance to check all your tickets you should go and get them now, as we are about to see whether you chose the right numbers to win a slice of the available pot.  Let’s get started shall we?

The results for the Lotto draw in April

We had eight draws taking place in the Lotto during April, and amazingly enough the first three draws of the month produced no jackpot winners at all.  This resulted in the fourth draw on the 14th April having a whopping jackpot amount of £16,523,920.  Four people shared this win, taking home a massive £4,130,980 each.

This wasn’t the biggest jackpot share of the month however, as one person won £4,460,495 in the very next draw on Saturday 17th April.  This meant that the smallest jackpot share occurred later in the month on the 28th, when three people each won a respectable £732,478.  So in total during April we had fifteen jackpot winners.

But what of those who won with the bonus ball?  Well, the biggest and smallest amounts came at the beginning and end of the month.  Seventeen people won £39,772 each on the 28th, while the biggest share - £220,308 – came to just four people on the 7th April.

Every single draw had at least one single digit number appearing in the results, while at least one number in the forties did the same in all but one draw.  The number 8 showed up three times while we had no pairs at all in any of the draws for April.

EuroMillions

But what about the EuroMillions draw – did it produce any memorable jackpot amounts for April?

The way the draws fell meant that we had five draws for EuroMillions during April.  And it would prove to be a very interesting month as well.  One winner scooped the jackpot for the first week, which amounted to £13,339,500.  Unfortunately it wasn’t won by a UK winner.

But after that we had no winners for the rest of the month.  This meant the jackpot started to climb up and up, leading to a huge sum by the time the final draw of the month took place.  In other words, we will be opening the month of May with a total amount of £52,603,784.  This is one of the biggest jackpots we’ve had in a long time on EuroMillions, so we can expect a lot of interest as May gets underway.

The biggest prize for matching five numbers plus one star went to four people on the 23rd April, when they each won £612,294.  Not a bad win in a month when jackpot winners were very thin on the ground!

In conclusion

Will we see more jackpot winners during May?  We’ll have all the news right here next time, so make sure you come and find out.
